According to a Eurobarometer poll, 49% of Bulgarians support adopting the euro, while an equal percentage oppose it. Over the last year, support has increased by five points and opposition has dropped similarly. While 79% feel confident they could adapt to the euro, 70% worry about abusive price setting during the transition. Concerns that Bulgaria could lose control over its economic policy are prevalent, with 48% believing this to be true. Despite a disinformation campaign against euro adoption, data reveals that these fears are unfounded. When asked about euro adoption timing, opinions varied, with 26% for immediate adoption and an equal percentage against it entirely. Overall, 58% of respondents across the six EU countries yet to adopt the euro are in favour of its adoption. A majority feel informed about the euro and have already used it.
