Mubea Tailored Products, a family-run business, that excel in crafting high-end springs and automotive parts is boosting electromobility with a significant investment in Slovakia, near Košice. They’re set to build a plant in Veľká Ida, focusing on cooling plates for electric vehicle batteries. Mubea’s owner, Thomas Muhr, envisions a 60 million euro venture, adding 105 jobs by 2027. The Slovak Ministry of Economy contemplates a 20 million euro tax incentive, pending government nod. The plant will primarily produce aluminum cooling plates essential for electric and hybrid car batteries. They will offer three unique plate sizes to accommodate various electric vehicle battery needs, with an annual production capacity nearing 18,000 tons of aluminum. Mubea Tailored Products belongs to the Swiss-German automotive titan, Mubea. Globally, they operate 48 locations and employ a workforce of over 14,000, serving industry heavyweights such as Audi, BMW, and Volkswagen.
