Slovenia’s top electronics retailer, Big Bang, is set to acquire Serbian online retailer BC Group, bolstering its ambitions in the regional online market. While the deal’s terms remain private, it’s expected to conclude by year-end, pending regulatory approval. Big Bang’s CEO, Uroš Mesojedec, underscored the acquisition’s importance, suggesting it enhances online sales expertise and streamlines logistics and digitalization.
After BC Group’s €35 million revenue in 2022, the merger aims to propel this to over €90 million in five years. BC Group’s director, Oleg Kulidžan, anticipates an expanded product lineup and improved customer experience. Building on its 2022 acquisition of Croatia’s Sancta Domenica, this move will see Big Bang’s workforce nearing 700, targeting over half a billion euros in revenue by 2028.
Founded in 1991 with its first Ljubljana store in 1993, Big Bang boasts 17 Slovenian outlets and reported a 2022 revenue of €270 million. Since 2018, the retailer is owned by Bidigital, an Adventura Investments subsidiary, acquired post-Merkur bankruptcy for €18.6 million.
